俄羅斯總統普丁 (Vladimir Putin) 認為，川普 (Donald Trump) 事業上的成功意味他是位聰明人士，看好他很快就能適應美國總統之新身分。
據《今日俄羅斯》報導，普丁接受俄羅斯 NTV 頻道專訪時表示，「川普有能力在事業上達至成就，這樣的事實顯示他是位聰明人士... 而如果他這麼聰明，就意味他將能完全且快速地認知不同層級之責任。」
普丁同時提及目前地緣政治情勢，表示他能見到其正在改變，試圖建立「單極世界」終將失敗，「我深信這已不是秘密，大家都能看到，我們多數的夥伴傾向訴諸於國際法原則，因為全球勢力的均衡正逐漸被重建」。
普丁表示，「單極世界的創造並未成功，這是無法避免的！我們現已居住在不同空間。而俄羅斯一直秉持此觀點 ── 也就是維護我們國家利益的同時，我們必須尊重其他國家利益。所以，這也是我們與其他國家建立關係的方式。」
本周稍早，普丁在對俄羅斯國會的年度演說上表示，莫斯科已準備好與美國新政府合作，強調「我們對確保國際安全具有共同責任」。
他同時稱俄羅斯已準備好，必要時會參與解決全球及地區性危機，「我們理解我們負擔的責任程度，且非常有意願參與解決全球及地區性問題，當然，我們的參與也會符合適當及必要性。」
